Camel wool and Merino wool crib pad

This wool underblanket is extremely soft and wonderfully warm due to the combination of 90% merino wool with 10% luxurious camel wool. Camel wool is particularly animal-friendly/sustainable because the wool is extracted during the period when the animal is shedding. The camels are not sheared. Camels live in a desert climate that has large temperature differences between day and night. Daytime temperatures can reach 45 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures can drop below freezing. For both, it helps to have a good insulating coat. Due to the extreme conditions the animal lives in, it has developed a wool that is even better quality than Merino sheep wool.

Pad of certified wool

The wool used for this crib pad is Woolmark and OEKO-TEX 100 certified. When you receive a wool pad, it will have a (slight) sheep scent. This is normal for the product and is due to the lanolin. Some can appreciate the smell, others a little less. If you get a little less excited about it hang the blanket to air it out first. It probably won’t go away completely but it will be significantly reduced.
