This delightful blanket is extremely soft due to the luxurious camel wool. Camel wool is particularly animal-friendly/sustainable because the wool is extracted during the period when the animal is shedding. The camels are not sheared. Camels live in a desert climate that has large temperature differences between day and night. Daytime temperatures can reach 45 degrees Celsius and nighttime temperatures can drop below freezing. For both, it helps to have a good insulating coat. Due to the extreme conditions the animal lives in, it has developed a wool that is higher quality than Merino sheep wool. This wool crib blanket has a higher density compared to merino wool, making it slightly warmer.
